Eagles won't disappoint Nigerians, says Gbolahan Salami

Nigeria striker Gbolahan Salami has said the Super Eagles will not let the country down in Saturday's Africa Cup of Nations against Sudan in Khartoum.
The Warri Wolves striker expressed confidence in the country's hopes of making it to Morocco where they awill be defending their title.

He also appealed to Nigerians to throw their weight behind the team as they can only achieve little without their supports.
"I'm pleading with all football-loving Nigerians and our wonderful supporters to give us their supports and prayers," Salami told Goal.

"They should believe in our can do spirit and we won't disappoint them because the three points is our target in Sudan.
"We are very focused and determined to win and I’m positive we will be in Morocco to defend our title next year. Once more, as a team we appeal for the backing of Nigerians," he concluded.

In 13 meetings in all competitions, Sudan has only managed two wins against Nigeria.
The Super Eagles are in a precarious third position with only a point after two games against Congo and South Africa, who are first and second with six and four points respectively
