Frank Lampard to miss Manchester City's clash with CSKA Moscow

Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Frank Lampard will not be fit for Manchester City's Champions League tie with CSKA Moscow after the midfielder suffered a thigh injury against Tottenham.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says that Frank Lampard won't travel with the squad to Russia to take on CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Lampard suffered a thigh injury and left the field on a stretcher in the first half of City's 4-1 win over Tottenham on Saturday and Pellegrini insisted in the prematch news conference that his on-loan star would not be fit enough to make the trip.

"Frank has a muscle injury," he said. "We will see on Sunday after the scan but, for the moment, he will not travel to Russia."
