  • The Super Eagles move into third place with four points in Group A while Sudan drop to bottom with three points. They await the result of South Africa vs Congo that will start in a bit. Victory for South Africa will mean the Eagles still have a very good chance of reaching Morocco 2015 if they win their remaining matches.

    Referee Alioum brings the first half to an end. What a game we have had so far despite the heavy rains. Goalless it is as both teams make their way into the tunnel.

    WHAT A MISS! Elgadir beats two players as he waltzes into the Nigeria box but shoots just wide when left alone with Enyeama. That should have been the opening goal. Sudan have looked so good on the counters, they play so well running at the Nigerian deence.

    The best play from Mikel Obi so far, he receives a cross from Emenike off a Musa counter attack, and shoots on his turn around but El Hadi gets on the end even though it looked to be going wide.

    Half way through the first half, Nigeria have looked like they did in the last match, threatened but unable to score. Sudan have looked dangerous on the counter attacks.

    The pace of the game has been very good with Nigeria going on the attack and winning a corner kick. Omeruo gets on the end of it but his header just goes wide. An early goal here will do them a world of good.

  • Sudan coach Mohamed Abdalla is full of confidence that his team has what it takes to re-enact their victory of Khartoum in Abuja in order to brighten chances of reaching Morocco 2015. He will have the confidence of that man Elgadir who scored the lone goal at the weekend. Expect a big show tonight.
  • Coming into this game, interim coach Stephen Keshi is under pressure to perform if he is to continue in the role. In recent twists, he has alleged sabotage against his side which has ensured their losing two and drawing one so far in the qualifiers. On Tuesday in Abuja, angry fans thronged the stadium calling for the sack of the trainer. If he wins tonight, nerves will be assuaged. Other than that, it might b the end of the Keshi era.
  • The African champions lost 1-0 in Khartoum on Saturday, their first defeat to the Falcons of Jediane in more than 40 years. Can they turn around their fortunes this evening in front of their home fans? Your guess is as good as mine.
  • Welcome to the Abuja National Stadium where Nigeria host Sudan in a reverse fixture of last Saturday's match in Khartoum. The Super Eagles will hope to reverse the scores as well and get their qualification campaign back on track.
