“Our best is yet to come,” says Okobi

The Super Falcons player has promised that her team will continue to improve in every game at the 2014 African Women Championship
Nigeria women national team player Ngozi Okobi has the Super Falcons’ best is yet to come despite beginning their 2014 African Women Championship of a flying note.

A brace from Desire Oparanozie propelled Edwin Okon’s ladies to a comfortable 4-2 victory against Cote d’Ivoire on Saturday at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek.

According to Okobi who was adjudged the best player in the game against Clementine Toure’s ladies, the Falcons performance can only get better at every passing game.
"This is not the best of Nigeria. I believe by the next game we will be near our best. We will go back and improve on other parts of the team ahead of our next match,” Okobi said at the post-match press conference.

"Winning the title is our main aim and that is the purpose we are here. We are very ready to win the trophy.
The 19-year-old player also praised the Ivorians for giving them a brave fight in the six-goal thriller.
"They gave us a good fight. They are a good side individually and were only lacking cohesion. We have to improve on our play.

"We expect victory in our next game against Zambia. We are here to reclaim the trophy,” Okon concluded.
Nigeria will face debutants the She-polopolo of Zambia in on Tuesday, 14 October 2014 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
