Theo Walcott (groin), Mesut Ozil (knee), Mathieu Debuchy (ankle), goalkeeper David Ospina (thigh) and Jack Wilshere (ankle) remain unavailable.

Influential holding midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin will miss Southampton's Barclays Premier League clash at Arsenal on Wednesday night with a leg injury. The 25-year-old France international must undergo scans to determine the extent of the injury suffered in Sunday's 3-0 defeat to Manchester City. Centre-back Toby Alderweireld could step into midfield, or fit-again Jack Cork could start alongside Victor Wanyama at the Emirates Stadium.

- CHELSEA
Diego Costa is suspended. Loic Remy and Didier Drogba are in contention to start up front in place of Costa, who serves a one-game ban after being shown his fifth yellow card of the season in last Saturday's goalless draw at Sunderland. Defender or midfielder Nathan Ake (hamstring) missed the trip to Wearside and is unlikely to be included.

Full-back Kyle Walker continued his recovery from abdominal surgery by playing for the Under-21s against Manchester City on Monday night.

Everton pair Steven Naismith and James McCarthy will undergo late fitness tests. Both have been nursing hamstring problems and while Toffees boss Roberto Martinez rates forward Naismith as having an "outside chance'' of featuring against the Tigers, he is expecting the game will come too soon for midfielder McCarthy. Darron Gibson (knee) will not be involved and it remains to be seen whether Bryan Oviedo and Arouna Kone might after both played in an Under-21s fixture on Monday as they continued to work towards match fitness.

Hull manager Steve Bruce intends to recall influential midfielder Tom Huddlestone. Bruce admitted he had chosen to leave the former Spurs man out of Saturday's team for a 3-0 defeat at Manchester United but, with the Tigers eager to avoid suffering a fifth straight loss, Huddlestone's positive response his prompted his boss to restore him to the starting XI. Striker Abel Hernandez has returned to England after travelling to Uruguay for the birth of his child but will not be included, while his countryman Gaston Ramirez serves the second part of a three-match suspension. Bruce has no fresh injury concerns.

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet could be tempted to rotate his starting line-up. Poyet has no new injury concerns but is keen for his side to stay fresh in the wake of the weekend's impressive but gruelling goalless draw against Chelsea. It could mean starts for on-loan defender Sebastian Coates and midfielder Ricky Alvarez, but Emanuele Giaccherini (ankle), Billy Jones (hamstring) and Patrick van Aanholt (shoulder) are still out.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has been ruled out. That leaves City short of options in central defence with Eliaquim Mangala suspended after his sending off in the weekend win at Southampton. Matija Nastasic, who has been out of favour this season, cannot be recalled as he too is injured. Right-back Bacary Sagna or fringe player Dedryck Boyata could play alongside Martin Demichelis. Playmaker David Silva, striker Edin Dzeko and left-back Aleksandar Kolarov are City's other absentees.
