Chelsea may be cruising towards the Premier League title, but there are plenty of battles being fought behind closed doors at Stamford Bridge as Jose Mourinho plans an assault on the Champions League next year.
Central to those plans will be Branislav Ivanovic, who Jose hailed in February as one of the club's best-ever signings. The Serbian international, now 31, has stalled on committing to a new deal with the Blues, according to the Express, because of the club's policy of only offering their over 30's players 12-month contracts.
All of which has UCL rivals Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain very excited. Ivanovic is one of the few defenders in the world who is just as clinical in the opponents box as he is in his own.
Will Chelsea break their policy in order to keep Jose happy? Watch this space.
Liverpool closing in on Nainggolan
Belgian international Radja Nainggolan could soon be plying his trade in the Premier League according to the Metro, as Roma cannot agree a fee with the player's co-owners Cagliari to relase him. That means the central midfielder, who has drawn interest from Liverpool, could be on the move this summer after playing a big role in Rudi Garcia's Roma side this season.
The 26-year-old is valued around £29 million and could be a welcome addition to Liverpool should their summer clearance sale go on as reported.
