PFA Player of the Year Contenders: Who is your choice for the Premier League's best?

As the Premier League season reaches its climax, it's time to run the rule over the contenders for the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year.
In a season where Harry Kane has become a sensation for Tottenham and a scoring debutant for England, the young striker's rise to prominence has been one of the stories of the campaign. But can he keep it up?

PFA Player of the Year contenders

- Harry Kane
- Alexis Sanchez
- Eden Hazard
- Diego Costa
- David De Gea
- Philippe Coutinho
ESPN FC's Tottenham blogger John Crace certainly thinks so: "He looks like the real deal and he's already fared far better than many predicted. He can be the future of Spurs and England."
Kane isn't the only forward hoping to take the prize, though, with Alexis Sanchez a fine candidate following his blistering form for Arsenal. Indeed, Arsenal blogger Andrew Mangan reckons  there's only one man worthy of the honour this year.

The league trophy is likely to be draped in blue ribbons this season with Chelsea champions in all-but name. Who's responsible for guiding them to the brink of Premier League glory for the first time since 2010? For Phil Lythell, it's Eden Hazard.
"Hazard has not only been the most consistent performer in the division through the season, he has also done so operating at a level higher than any of his rivals," Lythell says.

PFA Player of the Year winners

2013-14: Luis Suarez
2012-13: Gareth Bale
2011-12: Robin van Persie
2010-11: Gareth Bale
2009-10: Wayne Rooney
2008-09: Ryan Giggs
2007-08: Cristiano Ronaldo
2006-07: Cristiano Ronaldo
2005-06: Steven Gerrard
2004-05: John Terry
Hazard and Diego Costa have been pivotal in firing Chelsea to within touching distance of their first title since 2010 and it's no surprise to see the Spaniard on the list of contenders. Costa's goals, especially earlier in the season before his injury worries, propelled Chelsea ahead of the rest.

Mark Worrall reckons Costa has a chance -- but he also picks Hazard as his man of 2014-15.
Manchester United won't be winning anything this season but maybe David De Gea could scoop the individual award? Musa Okwonga thinks he deserves a spot on the podium -- but can United keep De Gea from Real Madrid's clutches?

And what about Philippe Coutinho and Liverpool? How long will the Brazil fancy staying around if Brendan Rodgers' men miss out on the Champions League? He has had a fine season for Liverpool and Steven Kelly makes a case for him here, although admits winning the main prize is perhaps beyond him.
