Bayer Leverkusen have seen a bid for Southampton target Kalidou Koulibaly rejected by Napoli.
talkSPORT told you earlier this month that Saints boss Ronald Koeman was keen to land the defender but they now face competition from the Bundesliga outfit.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Napoli have rebuffed an £8m bid from Leverkusen and told the German side to raise their offer by at least £2m.
Southampton were reportedly willing to table an £8.5m offer for the Frenchman but will now have to reconsider their approach.
Koulibaly was a key figure for Napoli last term, making 34 starts for the Partenopei, but was left on the bench for their defeat to Sassuolo at the weekend.
