Breaking News: Galatasaray to replace sacked Prandelli with Hamzaoglu

The Italian coach was sacked on Thursday and is set to be replaced by the Turkey assistant boss, with discussions already under way

Galatasaray have entered talks with Hamza Hamzaoglu as they set about replacing Cesare Prandelli as coach.
The Italian was fired from his post on Thursday after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Anderlecht which condemns the Turkish side to finishing bottom of their Champions League group with one game still to play, while the team also sit third in the league - one point behind Besiktas and Fenerbahce.
The club have now revealed that Prandelli's assistant Claudio Taffarel will handle first team duties for Saturday's match against Gaziantepspor and they then want Hamzaoglu to take over at the helm of the squad on a permanent basis.
Hamzaoglu is a former Galatasaray player and is currently Fatih Terim's assistant with Turkey's national team.
"The team's Technical Director has begun talks with Mr. Hamza Hamzaoglu," a statement read on the Istanbul giants' website after they had formally confirmed that Prandelli's contract has been terminated.
