Uefa charge Tottenham for pitch invasions

Three men invaded the pitch during the club's Europa League clash with Partizan on Thursday evening and the club are now the subject of disciplinary proceedings

Uefa have charged Tottenham for the multiple pitch invasions that took place in their 1-0 victory over Partizan on Thursday night.

Spurs won the Europa League group game thanks to Benjamin Stambouli's first goal for the club but saw proceedings delayed three times in the first half because of pitch invaders.

The stunt was attributed to a company that designs bespoke headphones and all three men were arrested and questioned following the incidents.

A press release read: "Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the Uefa Europa League group C match between Tottenham Hotspur and FK Partizan (1-0), played on 27 November in London."

"The case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 11 December."

Tottenham tweeted a response to the actions of the trio stating: "Three pitch invaders at tonight's match have been arrested and are assisting police with their enquiries.

"We shall provide an update as soon as we have established the full facts. We apologise to fans for the disruptions caused by this totally unacceptable behaviour."

Tottenham qualified for the knockout phase with victory over Partizan.
