Tottenham v Chelsea – Spurs haven’t won at the Bridge since 1990
A total of 18 Tottenham managers have come and gone since the last time Spurs won at Stamford Bridge. Gary Lineker’s header separated the sides in 1990, but with Chelsea playing their best football in years, most people are predicting Tottenham's winless streak in West London will continue. A small plus Spurs fans can take from this fixture is that they have avoided defeat in four of the last six league meetings.
Germany v Italy – World Champions haven’t beaten Italy in a competitive game
The 2014 World Cup winners may have won the world title four times and the European Championship on three occasions, but they have never beaten Italy in eight competitive matches at both tournaments. Italy beat Germany in the 1982 World Cup final, knocked them out of their home World Cup in the 2006 semis and most recently sent Joachim Loew's team packing in the Euro 2012 last four.
David Moyes has never won away against the Premier League's 'big four' (with apologies to Man City)
In 12 years as a Premier League manager, David Moyes failed to win a single away game against Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. That's a total of 49 games without a win against those sides away from home, including 30 defeats. Real Sociedad fans will be looking forward to their trip to Real Madrid in February 2015, then!
Wenger's record v Mourinho: P 12, W 0, L 7, D 5, F 6, A 21
Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho have something of a combustible rivalry, although some might say it is too one-sided to consider them real rivals. Last season Mourinho labelled Wenger a "specialist in failure", while this campaign the pair were caught up in a shoving match as Chelsea beat Arsenal 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. And it is Mourinho who has a massive upper hand over his French counterpart in terms of results. Wenger’s Arsenal have come up against Mourinho’s Chelsea 12 times now and haven’t picked up a win, home or away. Mourinho even dished out a 6-0 spanking for Wenger's 1,000th game in charge of the Gunners.
Liverpool v Everton – The Blues haven’t beaten their rivals away since 1999
It's not far to travel, so Everton can hardly blame fatigue, but they must be getting tired of leaving Anfield without three points. It has been 16 games since the Toffees last claimed a win on the other side of Stanley Park, when Steven Gerrard was just a fresh-faced youngster trying to break in to the Liverpool team. Can they beat Gerrard's side at Anfield before the Liverpool skipper retires?
Liverpoolol v West Ham – Hammers haven’t won at Anfield since 1963
To put Everton's Anfield record into perspective, consider West Ham's attempts to claim victory on the Reds' home patch. To credit the Hammers' support, despite not having won at Anfield in 51 years, the away allocation is always full… and certainly full of hope and expectation. When you realise that the last West Ham team to take three points away from Anfield contained Bobby Moore, before he'd won the World Cup, it's fair to say they are long overdue that elusive victory.
