Nigeria senior women defender Ugo Njoku, has told Goal that the team will put up a great display in their African Women Championship semi-final clash with South Africa on Wednesday in Namibia.
The 19-year-old, said her side, which only conceded two goals so far is fully fit and prepared for the crucial semi-final encounter with the Banyana Banyana at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, Windhoek.

"We will give our best. We really didn't do enough against Namibia, but against South Africa, we [defenders] will defend well," said Njoku.
“We are focused on taking each game as it comes as we know no team is a pushover now. By the special grace of God, we will do better.

Njoku, who graduated into the Super Falcons after she featured at the two previous editions of the Fifa U20 World Cup in Japan 2012 and Canada 2014, expressed delight at her career progress and appearance at the ongoing AWC.
I'm happy playing in the AWC for my country. I'm not surprised at my progress into the Super Falcons. I'm sure my performance at the U20 World Cup in 2012 and 2014 has helped me into the senior team," Njoku told Goal.

The Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt right-back, who already won a Presidential cash award of one million naira with the Falconets, also set her ambition at winning the AWC trophy and as well desires becoming a hero for her country.
"My aim is to win the trophy and make the country proud. And with this I’m sure I could get a good offer from overseas.

"For me, I hope to play better than the last game, because in the last game I didn't put in my best. And for the team, everybody is ready and physically fit to do better against South Africa," she concluded.
Nigeria, who will meet South Africa for the ninth time at the championship, will aim to reach the final and as well book a ticket to the finals of the 2015 Fifa Women World Cup in Canada.
The game will be played by 4pm Nigerian time.
