Ikechukwu Uche’s brace sinks Almeria

Nigeria international Ikechukwu Uchebagged a brace in Villarreal’s 2-0 win against Almeria in a La Liga game played on Sunday night. His strikes in both halves of the encounter ensured his team climbed to the sixth position on the Spanish topflight log after eight games.
Uche got his first goal in the 23rd minute after teammate Mario Gasper darted forward to strike a fierce shot which was blocked by goalkeeper Ruben of Almeria before the Nigerian headed home from a few yards out.
He doubled his side’s advantage in the 60th minute by firing in from close range after Ruben had stopped his initial effort.
Meanwhile his compatriot, Ramon Azeez was on parade for 68 minutes and was cautioned in the 30th minute by the referee.
