The Arsenal striker scored a hat-trick against Galatasaray to put himself among the game's highest-scoring players after two matches, with Alexis Sanchez also impressing

Danny Welbeck’s hat-trick against Galatasaray earned the Arsenal striker’s UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football managers 14 points on Matchday Two.

The 23-year-old was comfortably the highest-scoring player in the latest round of fixtures, outperforming Markus Rosenberg of Malmo, who scored 10 points, and his team-mate Alexis Sanchez, who scored one goal and created another for nine points.

Nemanja Matic’s lone goal in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Sporting made him the leading midfielder for Matchday Two. He is joined in the week’s best XI by Arda Turan of Atletico Madrid, Marcelinho of Ludogorets and BATE’s Aleksandr Karnitski.

In defence, Juanfran’s assist on Turan’s vital goal for Atletico against Juventus earned him 10 points and Lukasz Piszczek and David Luiz, who scored in Paris Saint-Germain’s win over Barcelona, also impressed.

Andriy Pyatov was the top goalkeeper, saving a penalty as Shakhtar drew 2-2 with Porto.
