Egypt announce Senegal friendly in October

The Pharaohs and Les Lions will meet in Dubai ahead of their competitive clash next year’s Fifa World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
Egypt have confirmed that they will face Senegal in a friendly match on October 8 as preparation for the Fifa World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations in 2018.

And four days later, they will face Burkina Faso and should the Burkinabes not show up, they will square up against Les Lions again either in Cairo or in Dubai.
The Egyptian Football Association cancelled their proposed games against Cameroon and Australia to pick the west African side.

Senegal dismissed the north African side during the qualifiers for the 2015 African Cup of Nations, dispatching of Shawki Gharib’s Egypt side 2-0 in Dakar and 1-0 in Cairo.
Egypt’s World Cup qualifying campaign kicks-off in November. The Pharaohs await the winner of the playoff between Sierra Leone and Chad.

In 2016, they face Nigeria in their next Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. They lead Group G with six points and would be hoping for maximum points against the Super Eagles in a bid to return to the competition after missing the last two editions.
